Since a baby my parents have brought
me to one of the most beautiful places
California has around. Bass Lake. It is
small, quaint, and extremely rustic but
offers a serene atmosphere I have trouble
finding anywhere else. We have always
camped, always will. Being away from
reality is what appeals to me the most.
Waking up to the sound of birds
or the warmth of the sun beating down
on your tent is breathe taking. The
hikes are hidden in the forrest beyond
the lake, sometimes difficult
to follow...but always worth the
view in the end. The smell of camp
fires roasting smores surrounds you
and the still sound of the lake is all
you hear each night. The juicy burger
from Forks is one of the best you'll
taste, and the local bar located in
the town of Pines will bring you the
colorful locals and a gorgeous view.
I will never forget the story of an
Uncle who ventured into a cove off
the main lake to discover millions
of lady bugs covering the moss and
rocks. Now where in California can
you say you've seen that.
